Lighter, lighter and lighter!

As you have probably noticed the site has a much lighter color palette than all other previous versions. I was getting tired of dark, so I decided to switch it up a bit.

While the color scheme is lighter, I also took some time and cleaned up some of the code and style sheets. I am hoping the site will respond a bit faster and be easier to maintain in the future. Now, if I can only get the hang of this blogging thing.

Besides a few loose ends on the visual side, most everything is complete. However, if you do come across something that is extremely buggy, please let me know.

I hope everyone enjoys the new design and I plan on writing more about this release as soon as I have squared away the last few issues.

I am extremely blessed to have a healthy family and to be still creating for the web after almost 10 years. I hope to write a lot more often in the upcoming year, but most of all I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season. Things will be a bit slow (as if they could get any slower!) around here over the next few weeks, but I hope to complete some much needed updates to my site and to also push out blog posts on a more frequent basis.

New Job, New City, & I Hope More Writing

Along with relocating half way around the globe to San Francisco, I’ve also started a new job as a Front-end Software Engineer for San Mateo CA based, FixYa.com.

After a few month’s of working, I’m very excited to be a part of such a great team and really look forward to further contributing and working to keep the site moving forward. (Put your finger on the mouse, do a quick click on the link above, get over there, and check us out! – NOW!)

While I hope that posts will not be so few and far between, I am still a few weeks away from being fully settled and there’s still a lot to see out here on the left coast. To everyone that has been in touch and have yet to hear back, please hang in there or drop me a line. I plan to get back in the routine of writing about design, front-end development, and life in the Bay Area as soon as time permits. This post is just meant to be a quickie to share the news, but expect some more design/development posts real soon.

It may seem as though I fell off the face of the earth, but stay tuned. It’s a very exciting time and a very exciting place to be if you’re a huge web geek. I can only imagine I won’t have a hard time coming up with creative ideas for writing.

While most of the updates this time are mainly visual, I have a few ideas in the works to help clean up my site even more. Stay tuned for a few more tweaks and updates that I will be adding as time permits.

A huge thanks to Chris for giving me the boost I needed to work on my personal site. I tend to neglect my site because of client work but after getting feedback and suggestions (some of which were very eye opening) I figured I better do something about it.

I hope my changes help out the overall visual appeal of the site, but drop me a comment and let me know what you think and if I am headed in the right direction. This site is always under construction so it would be awesome to hear what others think.

Of course there is still quite a bit to be done but I just couldn’t wait any longer to get the site up. It’s such an improvement over previous versions of my website and includes a lot of new features, capabilities, and general information. Keep on reading for more details and a bit on what’s to come.

Old vs. New

So as you can see the design is a drastic overhaul and there is a lot more information available. The old version was a one page introduction and was used just for informational purposes. The new site now includes a blog, a few samples of previous work and as time permits a few more additions will be added.
